In the beginning...

Picture the scene... 24 enthusiastic coaches are sat round several tables and we're discussing the different sessions we're planning for our Futsal Level 2 assessments. My topic is Counter-Attacking with a numerical advantage. But that's completely by the by. The REALLY important subject suddenly came to me. "I reckon you could apply what we've learned so far on this course to literally anything!". "Your sandwich." came the response. So, how could I possibly apply my futsal coaching to the sandwich I'd just taken out of my bag?

I had a delicious vintage cheddar cheese and salad sandwich on a lovely Tiger loaf with a smidgen of salad cream and some black pepper. The first decision to make post sandwich making was the cut. Diagonal or square? I nearly always go for the diagonal cut, but that's another subject for another day! As it happens I chose the diagonal cut. But then came the big one; Cling-film or Tuppeware?

There's an argument for both. Cling-film is a quick packaging and will keep your sandwich nice and fresh, but only if there's no gaps. There's also not much protection and if you put it at the bottom of your bag you can very quickly lose the shape of your sandwich. A bit like the classic diamond defensive shape. You don't want a messed up diamond. You can just about get away with it but could very easily end up with a squidgy mess! Tupperware, on the other hand, is good for offering protection and will keep its shape. But it's not very flexible and once you're finished you've got to still think about the tub. A bit like the defensive box!

What should I have done as a futsal coach? Well, I know I've got a bag so I don't need to worry about where to store the box when I've finished so I could go Tupperware. But I know I've got plenty of time to prepare so cling-film was also a viable option. So I went for the cling-film. And put it in a Tupperware box!

Genius!!!
